Welcome to the Christmas City of the North Parade Swag Store! I am so happy you are here!!! I wanted to share a little bit about the idea behind my store and its intentions. My Grandfather Robert J. Rich used to be an owner of KBJR. He had been active in local radio and television scene since 1948. He was the longtime general manager at the TV station that used to be owned by Northwest Publications Inc. and at that time the station was called WDSM TV but after my Grandpa purchased it, that’s when it became the KBJR we all know today. He was incredibly proud of Duluth and loved it here. He was a local, all about supporting local businesses and the community. He created the parade not only for his love of Christmas but also to have the locals be able to come together in the holiday season and support the small businesses that our amazing town is known for. He also used to have a toy drive at KBJR during the holiday season and donated those toys to the kids in need making sure they got something on Christmas. In honor of him and a dream of mine I always had I wanted to sell Christmas City Swag! Each year it will be something new, a little different, more opportunity to customize and continue to give back. Part of my proceeds I am going to donate over to the Salvation Army this year to continue the legacy of giving to kids. As the years go by and if it is well received by you, the community, I hope to be able to make more charitable donations in the future. I would like to thank my Grandpa for everything he did for me and for the community. He always was never one to take credit, it was always about everyone involved that made the difference no matter what the project.
